  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
You're talking about Fight Club, sir.
  • -stabs both of you-
  • Fight Club you say?
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
This movie is a chick flick for dudes.
  • You can change. You can.
As my proffesor described it: "It's an homosexual relationship gone horribly wrong"
  • We Played Some Open Chords and Rejoiced, For the Earth Had Circled the Sun Yet Another Year

Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I liked the book's ending better, but liked everything else about the movie better.
  • They're somethin' else.
I like a lot of the books little details better. I thought the mobster owner of the bar in the film was... unnecessary and corny.
  • You can change. You can.
    > I liked the book's ending better

we can't be friends anymore, INUH.

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
The movie's ending was good, but...it just didn't feel like much, somehow.

Might just be that I was spoiled on it but not the book's ending, though.
  • You can change. You can.
I mean, really, my problem with the ending is that it means that the Narrator didn't grow at all. Whereas the movie's ending has the Narrator finally 1) Getting rid of Tyler Durden and his extremist influence in his life, 2) him accepting Marla rather for who she is and accepting that, yes, he can be with her, and he doesn't have to change himself in order to be with her. Or, more like, changing himself into a sorta terrorist, anyway. 3) finally striking balance between Tyler Durden's extremisim and every day life.

Admittedly, most of this is really implied, but I think it's easy to see it.

    All fair points.

It probably is just that the ending I wasn't spoiled for won out for me.
  • You can change. You can.
Also, Asylum = heaven? come on.

Anyway, as for the mobster, I thought the point of the scene was simply foreshadowing the extremes to which Tyler would go both in his way to selfdestruction and to get the things he wants. It's definetly a great character scene.
  • They're somethin' else.
For Tyler at least. for the Lou guy, I was like WTF get yer accent outta here!
  • You can change. You can.
Ah, Lou himself was stupid, I admit, but it worked and there was a point to it.
  • $80+ per session
Edward Norton went to my highschool and his grandfather founded the town.

    I just like saying that.
  • They're somethin' else.
I'll agree with you on that. Didn't like the odd genre shift into crime drama, but I'll admit the scene served a purpose.
