Honestly some of the shit his newspapers have been getting up to in the UK:
  • Hacking the phone of a missing girl(turned up dead), deleting the voicemail messages to hear more which gave the parents undue hope.
  • Bribing police for info.
  • Potential list of up to 4000 people having their phone hacking into, ranging from victims of crime to politicians.
  • 'Blagging' personal data from Gordon Brown the then Prime Minister.
  • Possibly hacking the phones of 9/11 victims for stories.

It was just the News of The World paper that was implicated, but as the days pass more stuff is uncovered and more News International papers are being implicated in such behaviour.

IJBM this stuff happened.

    However now this is all coming out in the news and he has closed one of his papers due to all of the shit.
    Politicians are basically starting to be loud and against him over here now.

    Also apparently US shareholders are getting a bit 'testy' as he this is causing lowered share prices.
    Is this being reported in the US at all?

    Yes, this is all over the news in the US.  Not sure about FOX News, but I watch the CBS Evening News and the PBS News Hour.

    Also good to see certain politicians being called out for their overly friendly relationship with Murdoch.

    See, this kind of stuff is why I despise tabloid journalism.  It's bad enough that they're shoddy hacks whose idea of "news" is what kind of bra celebrity-flavour-of-the-week is (not) wearing, but the fact that they stoop to such lengths to get their stories... Ugh.

    You can hope that enough trouble is caused by this that News International has a lot of internal strife and leads to fractures but I doubt everything would implode.
    I'd like it to implode though.

    Although in such a way that those working innocently for it aren't fucked ala the News of The World guys.

    Rupert Murdoch is actually completely apolitical, and will just espouse whatever he thinks will get him money, which is why one day he hires Glenn Beck, another he supports the Chinese dictatorship, and the other his entertainment branch makes Family Guy.
