Why is the most uplifting and optimistic ending the one for the worst performance? I mean, the "good" ending implies Dracula's coming back, the "average" ending is a Shoot The Shaggy Dog ending, but the "bad" ending says that the curse is gone forever. Sure, it's implied Simon's dead, but when he's revered for all eternity, it's still overall positive. Also, the Mood Dissonance of the endings. A sunset for the "good" ending works enough, but having a clear daylight sky while the onscreen text tells you Simon died and the curse is still out there is rather morbid for the "average" ending.

In all seriousness: Yeah, trying to beat that game under the best time wasnot worth it.
