I really would like to see the comic (at school right now, can't see it) to gain a better judgement. I shouldn't be making these hasty generalizations. Perhaps you can hotlink it in this thread?
I don't think that's even what the issue is. Although I believe that someone one hates liking something you like can "affect" you, if you know what I mean. As an example: Fan dumb is a great way to wreck your enjoyment of something. Should we let it wreck it? Perhaps not. But does it annoy us anyway? Yes
I don't see how that's so bad.
Guy you wouldn't even care"
I've never even saw MLP.
Also, from an objective point of view, I do not find this comic funny.
Face it. People like things you like. You will not like some of them. But that doesn't mean that them liking it affects you at all.
People have a damn right to watch whatever the fuck they want. If you don't like it, go start your own 1984-esque country. Or just move to China, that'll be easier.
SUBJECTIVITY IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS WEBCOMICS
Mine.Related: the "humour is subjective" argument holds as much weight as the "just joking justification" for me. Because most of the time, they are used in a similar way.
"People have a damn right to watch whatever the fuck they want. If you don't like it, go start your own 1984-esque country. Or just move to China, that'll be easier."
I love Godwin's Law invocations.
Everyone else: Reductio Ad Absurdum
Alternatively, I'm simply saying that I'm not sure why Gelzo is annoyed at Scott liking FIM. He did say that he didn't want Scott to watch the series, basically saying that Scott shouldn't get to watch what he wants because Gelzo doesn't like him.
facepalm."
Then, he wouldn't be Chagen.
"Abyss: No mention of Hitler. It's not a Godwin, as Godwin's Law explicitly requires that a person is compared to Hitler/The Nazis."
It's not the exact wording that matters, but the idea behind it.
