    Higurashi and Higurashi Kai were, and they were awesome.  Rei, the first OVA series was kind of fanservicey and pointless, since the story was over, and wasn't that good.  And I guess the new OVA is the same as Rei.

    I haven't watched it yet, but entire episodes are not defined completely by fanservice...are they? I am sure that Rika isn't washing a window and with her ass and Takano-sama giving a flutejob (oh me oh my) for 23:00 minutes, right? it has more context....

    From what I heard, people outraged against the fanservice, but a lot of it sounds like overreactions so far.

    But...if there are no story expansions or horror/suspense bits in the OVA episodes...why did they make it again? Fanservice is fine and dandy and all, but I am pretty sure that's not really what the fans want I don't live in Japan and participate with them in finding out what the fans actually want there so I don't know if they want a cute harem anime or a horror story, so whatever.
