If somebody made a holodeck duplicate of you to have sex with, would it bother you?

(Note: I originally asked this question in TV Tropes' YackFest, unaware of that site's "no threads of a sexual nature" rule. Which seems to be enforced a bit inconsistently considering some of the other threads there, but whatever. Anyway, not wanting to make the same mistake twice, I looked at IJBM's rules, which say that NSFW stuff isn't allowed. I don't think that this particular question crosses the line into NSFW, not unless the discussion becomes very graphic anyway, but if I'm wrong then I apologize and won't object to this thread's deletion or locking.)

I was wondering about this question after reading recaps of ST:TNG episodes where this very situation came up. (I know it came up in DS9 as well, but I'm really more of a TNG fan. Anyway, in both cases the person was outraged that somebody would make a holographic duplicate of them for that.)

My feeling is that it wouldn't negatively affect me or my reputation so long as it all happened behind closed doors. I might not be crazy about them knowing what I looked like naked (if the computer was 100% accurate about that sort of thing), but that's about it.

  • Honestly, I'd be flattered.
  • Is this something people are actually concerned by?
  • In fiction, yeah. Although to be fair, after falling in love with holographic Leah Brahms, Geordi got a tad stalker-y when he ended up meeting the real one. And the DS9 plot was about this guy Kira had shot down wanting to get a full scan of her body so that he could experience what it would really be like to sleep with her.

But I see those as separate problems. And in the Barclay episode people ended up much less bothered by it.
  • I guess the realistic equivalent would be someone photoshopping your face into porn, then fapping to it.
  • Meh, kudos to them if they actually succeed in making the fakes convincing(on a side note, there are apparently fakes of our previous queen Beatrix floating around on the web).
  • I'd be more surprised than anything.  And maybe looking over my shoulder a bit more often.
  • "you duck spawn, refined creature, you try to be cynical, yokel, but all that comes out of it is that you're a dunce!!!!! you duck plug!"

I think I'd be more concerned about the possibility of someone trying to explain he/she actually didn't take part in a porn shoot. Or, didn't take part in pretty much anything unwelcome.

"It was a holodeck, believe me! I swear!"

    "Yeah, right."

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
I think I'd be more amused than bothered, but it'd depend on the person who made it.

It would only bother me if I found that person sexually attractive. I'd just go "the fuck jerry, why didn't you just invite me over for Netflix or some shit"

That's one way to win a pretty girl over quite a lot. Generally, setting up visual entertainment on a couch with pleasant smells and a clean house has a magical affect on women, making their emotions and hormones swell, making a glimmer shine in their eye as you empty your entire nutsack into their mouth

    WAIT OFF TOPIC

If they're ugly I'm going to feel bothered or flattered.
